About the Doctors

Gowen

Dr. Michael P. Gowen

Dr. Michael P. Gowen completed his undergraduate work at Virginia Tech and received his doctor of optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. He received his clinical training at the Eye Institute of Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia Correctional Center.

Dr. Gowen is both a member of the American Optometric Association and the Virginia Optometric Association. Dr. Gowen emphasizes comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fitting, diagnosis and treatment of eye disease, eye allergies, dry eyes and other eye health problems.


Partlow

Dr. Cory R. Partlow

Dr. Cory R. Partlow did his undergraduate work at DePauw University in Greencastle, IN. He received his Doctorate of Optometry at Indiana University where he was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa national honor society and involved with the American Optometric Student Association. Dr. Partlow received his clinical training at the Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals in Perry Point, MD and Huntington, WV, and at the VisionCare Specialists in Des Plaines, IL.

Dr. Partlow provides professional eye care with a personal touch. He specializes in all areas of vision care for children through adults including treating and managing medical eye conditions, fitting all types of contact lenses, and participating in consultation and post-operative care for patients undergoing ocular surgery.


nowak

Dr. Jennifer D. Nowak

Dr. Jennifer Nowak received her undergraduate degree from Belmont Abby College, in Belmont, North Carolina. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and completed a residency at the Huntington Veterans Administration Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. Dr. Nowak is also a volunteer with Optometric Service to Humanity where she has traveled to the rural parts of the United States and to the Dominican Republic where they provided approximately 1,400 local residents with free eye care and glasses.
